Are you happy to have your pet and eat it too? Gordon Ramsay does! When it comes to eating Christmas pork or turkey, Leg of Lamb Roast or Chicken and Almonds, most of us don't stop to think about the live turkey, pig, lamb or bird that was killed to end up on our dinner plate.
According to www.metro.co.uk Gordon Ramsay's son Jack, "is rearing some frogs in the back garden to eat. We’re going to do frog’s legs on toast this weekend. A bit of garlic butter and lemon and I’ll win them over.... "Isn’t eating their pets going to traumatise them? "Not after the turkeys, pigs, lambs and now the veal calves that we’re rearing. It’s important that children know where their food comes from. It doesn’t come from a packet in the supermarket." At a dinner party I was at recently, a friend recalled her travelling experiences in Asia and we discussed eating rat, dog and cat. In some countries you don't even know what you are eating. Anyone for a crunchy cockroach? I can think of better crunchies to nibble on. I like to keep my pets for life - a long life. When they have passed away, I then create a pet memorial. My pets don't pass my lips to add weight to my hips. Happy eating Gordon! I'm off to the supermarket to do my shopping for myself and my pet dog and cat!
