With the Australian TV Logie Awards done and dusted for another year, we now paws for pet animals to strut their ruff on reality TV. Perhaps next year we will see a pet earn the Gold Logie!
CBS in the USA has unveiled its 2008 summer schedule. According to realitywanted.com, "Extraordinary teams of dogs and owners across the nation will compete for the title of GREATEST AMERICAN DOG (working title), premiering Thursday, July 10 (8:00-9:00 PM, ET/PT). Owners and their pets - from "pageant dogs" to those simply trained at home - will live together and compete against each other in games that put the owners' ability to train their dogs to the test. The winning team will walk away with a $250,000 cash prize." In the UK, according to Nadia Brooks from thesun.co.uk, "BRITAIN’S Got Talent starts up again – and hosts Ant and Dec have revealed just how WILD the auditions were. "Declan Donnelly has told how wannabes went animal crackers as they brought along a menagerie of crazy pets to perform for judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan. "Auditions for the ITV1 show began in Blackpool in January and then took place in Manchester, Birmingham, London, Cardiff and Glasgow. "But Dec said it was like a wacky zoo backstage, with animals running amok. He revealed: "There were lots of animals attempting to escape! We had ferrets trying to make a run for it and a sheep in a cape and tiara trying to make a dash for the door. "Also a magician’s doves flew off and wouldn’t come back. It was animal crackers backstage!" "Britain's Got Talent on Saturdays at 7:45pm on ITV1." Perhaps Simon Cowell will make the trip to Australia to check out Australia's fabulous pets?
