Pet Cat Information
Cats are very independent creatures and seem to have a "knowing" presence about them. At Think Big Pets we have gathered ideas, hints and tips to help you create a deep bond with your feline creature. Find information on choosing a cat, cat grooming, cat accessories, female cat names, male cat names and ideas for cat food and what foods to avoid.
Cat's Life Span
Choose your cat wisely as cats have a typical life span of 15 to 20 years. Not only will you have a great friend for a long time but the responsibility rests on you! Cats are clean, don't take up much space, are easy to purchase (some just wander into your life) and cats are relatively inexpensive to maintain. You do need to think about the extra chores you must accept before purchasing your cat. Grooming a cat can take more time than you expect. Longhaired breeds of cats look beautiful, for example, Persians, Himalayans, Angora, Maine Coon cats but these cats need daily grooming to keep the fur from tangling and to prevent fur balls.
Cat Care
Every week thousands of cats are destroyed by welfare societies because owners haven't thought through any problems of bringing up a kitten. Kittens are cute, playful, fun and cuddly. The fun with your cat can continue for many years. Learn more about cats and the care and responsibility of raising them into adult cat life.

Benefits of Cat Grooming Cats are clean animals and although they are constantly grooming themselves, they need regular grooming by you to keep their coats healthy and to stimulate the skin. By regularly grooming your cat, you will prevent their hair from matting and remove any loose hair. This will help prevent hairballs which are caused when the cat picks up loose hairs with their tongue and then swallows them. Old cats or sick cats can lose interest in grooming themselves. Regular grooming by you at this time is usually appreciated by your cat. Your help will also maintain a healthy coat for your pet.

Cat Food - Wellness for Your Cat
Cats can be fussy lovable creatures. One day precious puss will devour a jelly fish cat meal and the very next week that jelly cat meal wont be eaten and has to be thrown in the garbage. It could be that your moggy has been out on the prowl (cats are solitary hunters) and helped himself to his own freshly caught cat snack. Or maybe he has eaten more of his "help yourself cat crunchies" and dampened his appetite.
